Bongani brings home Sandy - Chapter 4

The Christmas holidays are over and Bongani and family are back to eating pap with 'moroho' and sour milk in order to save for school fees.

Bongani wanted to start the year with high standards. 'Come 2017 I'm updating!' He bought a smart phone to start looking for better permanent jobs online. His friend has been showing him how to use it so he can prove to his wife that they are heading for bigger things in life.

Announcing his arrival, he asked the family to dress up for a photo shoot. Apart from wedding photos sponsored by his cousin and the identity card ones, these will be their greatest photo shoots. So they kept on changing clothes for the shoot. He turns and looks at his wife and says,"I'm your 'blesser'" , and Sandy laughs.

The rain starts and they go inside their 'mukuku' the iron sheet house.  As the rain rattles on the roof, Sandy says she would like to make pap. Bongani goes to check whether his signature is on the leveled flour and his signature has been forged! Sandy's friend had come to borrow some flour and she couldn't reveal to her friend the signature issue so she gave her the flour.

Bongani uses the tape measure and realises the height of the maize flour has decreased. "Sandy, who stole my flour and forged my signature?" He shouts. Sandy is quiet. So Bongani says, "You owe me R5.

Never again will the height of the melie flour be 'altered'. He measures the flour for Sandy to make dinner. Sandy was told never to borrow or lend anything without her husband's permission. Permission is respect. And borrowing food makes your husband look weak.

Rather visit your neighbours and share their meal if you are starving! This was in her auntie's marriage tutorial.

After dinner, she reached in her bra and said, "Tabang give 'Taata' his money. 'Bongani smiled and screamed! "Taata" and Sandy laughed.

Whenever Sandy calls Bongani Taata, it means she is announcing her pregnancy!

Bongani played Kwaito music on the Smart phone to celebrate. The rain has stopped and Sandy has to pour out the dripping water from the roof before going to bed. Bongani is still dancing with the R5 in his hand.

Tomorrow is 'piece job' so he has to go to bed in an hour.
